Happy Sunday! I thought I’d share with you a quick and easy DIY lip scrub using ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. Today we’ll be making a brown sugar and vanilla lip scrub. Sounds divine, huh? Best of all, it’s edible and it tastes just as good as it smells. I wouldn’t suggest eating it by the spoonful but it’ll be okay if you get a few bits in your mouth.
What You’ll Need:
- 5 tbsp of Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp of Coconut Oil
- 1 tsp of Honey
- 1 tsp of Vanilla Extract
- Clean and empty container
- Mixing bowl
I used these measurements specifically for my 1.5 oz jar so feel free to adjust it to fill up your container. You could also adjust it to change up the consistency if you’d like it more runny than grainy (like mine).
Once you have all your ingredients ready to go, you’ll simply mix in the honey, vanilla extract, and coconut oil into the brown sugar. Keep mixing until it’s well combined. If everything looks good to you, go ahead and scoop it into your container. If you have extra that doesn’t fit, go ahead and use it in the shower as a body scrub or put it into another container and gift it.
I aim to use this scrub at least once a week to keep my lips soft and smooth. Nobody likes chapped lips, right? Exactly. To use, I simply get some on my fingertips and rub onto my lips in a circular motion. You really don’t need to apply too much pressure because it could actually do more harm than good. Once done, rinse off with lukewarm water, pat dry, and ta-daa you’ve got yourself some kissable lips! Have fun!
Have you made this lib scrub before? What are your thoughts and did you enjoy using it?
